Salvation Is Obtained Through Deeds, Not Faith

Now, let me speak plainly.
Among the famous books, there is one called the Bible, whose main character is allegedly Jesus. For thousands of years, many renowned people have said that Jesus is the savior, and he is the central figure of the sixty-six books of the Bible.
In this, Jesus declares, “Ah, I am the greatest physician for diseases of the soul. Just believe in me, only me. If you just believe in me, Jesus, you will all receive salvation and not die."
To put it simply, it's like this: Imagine a doctor who is the main character in a book as famous as the Bible in the medical field. This famous doctor examines a patient suffering from 100 fatal diseases. "You have a fatal disease inside you. But just believe in me. Don't you know I am the most famous top doctor? Just believe in me and you will not die." If the patient just believes the doctor's words, will he live or die? He will clearly die.
Would the patient live simply by believing these words? Certainly not. Death would still come.
If Jesus is a physician for diseases of the soul, he must cure the spiritual disease, fundamentally uprooting sin. Making humanity, which was eternally destined to die because of sin, become free from sin and able to reach eternal life –that is what it truly means to be a physician who cures diseases of the soul. But it began to be revealed that Jesus did not know salvation, that Jesus was a human who did not even know the word 'salvation'.
Now, what does it mean to believe and obtain salvation? Imagine an Englishman saying, “I believe you. Therefore, I shall go to England.” If he repeats this ten million times, will he go? No —he must prepare and board a plane to reach the destination.
Thus, merely saying, “I believe, I believe,” is meaningless. Humanity, destined to die because of sin, must be cleansed from sin. Yet, Jesus himself did not know how to wash away sin, nor how to resolve it. Therefore, for two thousand years, no one in the world has clue about how to get salvation. The entire world is ignorant of how sin is washed away.

Not to Sin in the Eye, Heart, or Thought is To Keep the Law of Liberty

눈으로도 마음으로도 생각으로도 범법하지 않는 것이 자유율법을 지키는 것

The sins of lust and theft are considered the most serious in the Bible. In the time of Moses a man and a woman, witnessed in a lecherous act by two or three people, would be dragged out and stoned to death. Their bodies, thought too offensive to the sight, were burned. So it was with thievery. If caught in the act of stealing, the thief was stoned to death and burned. These two were the greatest sins.
According to the law of liberty, if a woman looks at a man and feels even a hint of lust, she is guilty of lechery and is doomed to hell. The Book of James says, “You keep all the laws but one and you have broken all of them,” and goes on to admonish, “Speak and act as those who shall be judged by the law of liberty.” This law of liberty is the law of conscience. When a female has an untoward thought toward a male, she has thereby committed adultery. Likewise when a male has an untoward thought toward a female, he is adulterous. Thoughts should have no improper stirring. This is what is meant to keep the law of liberty. Under the law of Moses, you can put out your hand and touch an object you covet without committing a crime. You could say, “I touched it because it’s so beautiful,” and that would have been the end of it. You are not chargeable yet as a thief, not until you are seen snatching it and stashing it away in your pocket, when they come and nab you, shouting “Thief!” Merely touching it does not constitute a crime. But under the law of liberty, the moment greed kicks in, regarding an object as desirable, you have committed theft.
Also according to the law of Moses, you are guilty of murder if, driven by an excessive impulse, you actually stab someone to death with a knife. Hatred by itself, though so extreme that it fills your thoughts with a burning desire to kill, is still not murder. But the law of conscience says that at the onset of hatred you are already guilty of murder. That is fundamental, because it is where the value of religion lies. That is the basis of belief in God. So know that you should not offend either in thought or in mind. The Christian church promises salvation by merely keeping the Ten Commandments, but that is not enough to obtain salvation. Sin must be uprooted at the base. Excerpts from sermons given on August 17, 1980, and October 12, 1980.

Only 2% of the Bible Is God’s Writing

성경의 2%만이 하나님의 글

I have said this before―98% of the Bible is the devil’s writing. Only 2% contains what God has put in. It wasn’t like what it is now, with 10,000 or 100,000 copies printing out from set type. Everything was written on parchment or sheepskin with pigment. Sometimes tree bark or papyrus was used for the purpose. Try writing the entire volume of the Bible on sheepskin. A single copy will fill up a few barns.
Persecution intensified and whole cities were torched and believers butchered and burned on the spot, en masse. Would there have been time to carry away even a single manuscript sheet? Everything went up in flames. Persecution stepped up and the copies got buried in the ground for safekeeping. But could they have buried all of the Bible when even a single complete copy took several warehouses to store? Certainly not. What would happen to the portion that didn’t get buried? It was torn or burned. Even the portion hidden underground would not remain intact and would start to deteriorate, most of it becoming illegible. Nonetheless, had there been someone who, filled with the Holy Spirit, prayed and pleaded with God for the meaning of the passages that were truncated, erased or illegible from the blurred ink, wouldn’t God have come forward with an explanation: The sentence that got cut off there is this and so on and so forth? Of course He would have. Had there been such a person full of the Holy Spirit on the editorial committee for the Bible, would only 2% be God’s word? It would have been a lot more. Had the editorial committee been composed 100% with persons filled with the Holy Spirit, the Bible, be it a few dozen times more voluminous, would have been composed 100% of God’s word. What is paraded today as the Bible has fillers in between God’s words, arbitrary stuffing and padding. Not inspired by the Holy Spirit, but culled and edited from a collection of burnt residues, sodden fragments with illegible blotches, to suit personal tastes and biases. Naturally some parts read like fairy tales. You are familiar with the story [on the founding of Korea’s Silla Dynasty] somebody came up with to glorify his ancestry: “Hear ye, hear ye, our ancestor sprang from a gourd. Out stepped he when the gourd was split open, to reign as king.” Is this true or a lie? A lie, of course. My point exactly. Read the prophetic writings of the Bible, a bundle of contradictions. Precious is the Water of Life

귀하고 귀한 생명물

By the water of life I mean the same thing that is sung in the hymn: “Forever will I dwell on the banks of the river where the water of life flows. Forever will I live on the riverbank by the water of life.” Truly it is the water of Heaven. It is hard to change the water composed of the devil into the water of life, composed of the Holy Spirit, composed of God. All the devils of the universe turn out in force, making a “shack-shack” noise in angry reaction. They must first be destroyed in order to transform water to that of the Holy Spirit.
Whoever the dead person may be, a grandfather or grandmother, an unbelieving ancestor or relative, try to pour the water of life with a spoon into the mouth of the deceased. Down the gullet the liquid will go. You know it can’t be ordinary water that goes down a corpse’s gullet as easily as that. Continue doing this with five spoonfuls. In this case the water need not be applied on the skin, because light will start spreading from inside out and the skin will glow. This is because it is the holy water of God. Try it ten thousand times, a million times, a billion times, on 4.8 billion bodies. It will work every time. This is not a braggart talking to you. I am God, the real one, the real among the real. That is why this water is so precious. Is this something human skill can perform? Certainly not. Make no mistake, only God is at work here. Spoken on Holy Dew Spirit Festival, May 25, 1986

What Pleases God Most

하나님이 제일 기뻐하시는 것

Do you want me to tell you what pleases and delights God the most? God looks to the interior of a person. It brings tears to His eyes to watch someone writhing in torment, struggling desperately against sin, be it as minuscule as one 100 millionth part of the tip of a needle. “You are lovely” rings out His voice in encouragement, pushing the struggler over the top. That is how one attains salvation. My greatest joy comes from this. In this context I want to mention God’s love for purity of heart. Writhing in a life-or-death struggle, so as not to fall into new sin, be it as small as one 100 millionth of the tip of a needle, the pure of heart also keep trying to shake off the effects of old sin. Remember that their struggle will be blessed and enable them to get rid of sin, 90%, then 100%, until they join the ranks of the righteous. What delights God is the purity of their heart―the beauty, cleanliness, integrity, and innocence shown in their resolute determination not to sin. These beings gain salvation. Eternal life is theirs and so is the badge of 100% righteousness. I need those who can go to heaven, be it but one single person. I have no need for those church members who are bound for hell, however outstanding and numerous they may be in the hundreds of millions. Can anyone enter the Olympic arena and race? Only those athletes good enough to represent their nations can enter. The athletes so qualified race, run, jump, and vault, but not all of them take the gold medal. Only the one who has trained well before entry and is ahead of the pack will take the gold. The same thing is true for salvation. Only they who do not henceforth commit sin, be it as small as a 100 millionth of the tip of a needle, have hope. You must receive grace now and run ahead of the pack. You need to make the effort now. A Hymn Which Depicts Hell to Cause Longing for Heaven

지옥을 그려 놓고 천국을 바라게 만든 찬송가 507장

In several places in the Bible, I inserted the mention of mankind’s fall from First Heaven to First Hell for the sins they committed. I will talk about one of those insertions.
The earth is depicted as hell in verses of the scripture. At the bottom of a hymn, below the lyrics, is found a notation such as a chapter and verse, citing Revelation for example if the passage is from Revelation. Generally, lyrics are scriptural verses. The essential verses―the 2% God has inserted in the Bible for His needs―provide the lyrics of most hymns. What are these insertions? Open to Hymn 507. In no way is the phrase “this body of mine faring on the troubled path of life” a description of heaven. It portrays hell. I have put it there for a reason―to set down evidence of my being God for this current generation. However often they may read it, they will not realize its real import, but upon hearing my lucid explanation they come to say, “It is indeed so.” They come to the realization that this is true and it has been hidden until now for this moment of truth. “No haven of rest awaits this body of mine faring on the troubled path of life.” None whatsoever. “No place is free from worry or trouble” is a description of hell. “The heavenly kingdom, my home, where I am to return” is a hymn seeking one’s homeland, to which one must retrace his steps. In other words, the earth is depicted as hell, to which the inhabitants of the First Heaven fell. The hymn expresses their desire to be released from a life of affliction in this hell and return home. Does not the exposition demonstrate that I am the author of this Biblical insertion? Clearly it does. Where, then, is this home? Was it the place of previous abode or not? The objective is to retrace the way back there. “Even if blown by cold winds in the wilderness, the road remaining is not long. Even if swept down by snow storms from over the mountain, the kingdom of heaven is my home whither I must return.” Hell is described to cause longing for the other world. It is I who have set in motion this search for their previous abode, so they may return to their homeland. Spoken on Holy Dew Spirit Day, May 26, 1985

God's Judgment, All Too Fair

너무도 공정한 하나님의 심판

At the hour of judgment all humans born since Creation, even those bound for hell, will transform temporarily into gods. Hearts and sins are measured as if on a scale with zero tolerance for error, yielding totally reliable and accurate measurements of sin. Becoming godlike, everyone can observe everything, seeing each other clearly. God’s judgments are meted out instantly. So, some may express surprise, “Ah, that person was guilty of that sin. He appeared so gentle, but still committed such a sin.” Seeing their own penalties measured out so fairly, those destined for hell move in that direction without hesitation, while those to be saved step aside.
Their destinations so determined, no one destined for hell can complain, because my guidance had already been offered countless times and ignored during their mortal lives. They thought their sins went unnoticed, but they were measured with such meticulous detail, precision and fairness, without error, not even the smallest of errors, as if with a scale that has zero tolerance for error. Seeing their sins, hearts and all so weighed, they go to hell and suffer its eternal pain without a word of complaint. Not even one soul can contradict me.
They know they have consistently ignored my advice. All too clear are the sins of disobedience delineated before them and all too just are the calculations by which punishments for such disobedient actions are meted out. Upon momentary transformation to divine intelligence, capable of surveying the totality of sin, the two classes separate, one bound for hell and the other for salvation. Spoken on Holy Dew Spirit Day, January 2, 1982

All Things Work Together For Good

합동하여 유익하게 돼요

What so-called religious leaders of this world do is mostly fight and split up. They split up, divide again, and then some more, until all’s split up. The devil’s work in this world is jealousy, envy, hate, and finally murder. So it is the devil that splits, divides, and destroys.
Whether they number 100, 1,000, 10,000, 100 million, or 1 billion, those in the fold of grace are one. All those in grace become one unit. If there is jealousy, it is caused by those infiltrated by the devil to do the devil’s mischief. There should be unbreakable unity, and there should be no hate. When this state prevails, all things work together for good. To be in grace is to be in the Holy Spirit. Then, you can say, “I am within the Lord.” The Lord must be within you, must dwell inside you. Only then comes the kingdom of heaven. The perfect fullness of the Holy Spirit is meant by the passage, “Nor will people say, ‘Here it is’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” All complaints, discontent, and anguish vanish, because the kingdom of heaven is there. Unless your heart turns into heaven, you cannot go to heaven. When all those who have formed heaven in their hearts gather, whether they number a billion, 10 billion, 100 billion, they are one. That is what’s meant by becoming one in the Lord. It is said, “Endeavor to meet often as the end of time nears.” You must try to meet often. All things working together for good in grace means that this throng of people, though weak and of no account individually, exerts, when united with one heart, the combined strength of a million, 10 million, 100 million. That is the power of unity in grace. That’s the meaning of all things working together for good. Spoken on October 28 and November 25, 1985

Be Near to God

하나님을 가까이 하라

God values what you want at heart, from within, in truth, and has no use for your ego, your supposed merit or excellence. I value honesty, looking to your heart, and detest and condemn cunning and concealment, the slither and sleaze of a snake. Therefore one who lives with Him grows humble, humbler every day, longing for Him in meekness and modesty. Without your heart in it, your prayer, however fervent, is but cold and brazen. Full of the devil, it is like ice, chilling and repelling. The modest heart, the heart that lowers itself, as low as it can go, that is the heart that God gives. With the heart aglow, tears gush out and prayer wells forth from the innermost depth, the kind of prayer that is not of one’s making but springs spontaneously, directly from the Holy Spirit. That is of the essence. Your heart must glow. Words, cold and dead, mumbled with your lips, do not make prayer. I have said it before and say it again: A hymn, prayer in origin, but sung cold and by rote makes me want to vomit. The sound that rises out of a filthy life is hateful to me. God hates it and grinds underfoot the grumbles, laments, beatings of the ground you display while full of filth inside. Deep earnest desire makes no sound, utters no voice. Unbeknownst to yourself, tears flow, unstoppable, endless. Which way is your faith facing, to what degree, with what intensity? How earnest is your desire, how deep your longing? That is why the Bible urges you in many places to be “near God.” Near to God you have to be. Only the righteous do I seek, those who will go with me to the eternal world. What need do I have for those who are bound for hell? None at all. From way back I have said it: “I want only those, even if it be but a single believer, who will be righteous and go to Heaven, not the others condemned to hell.” This has been so from the very beginning. I need the righteous, worthy of salvation, be it a single individual, and not the rest. Spoken on November 18, 1985
